Skyrim however, has the best graphics and the best combat. The province of Cyrodiil was also a more interesting place than Skyrim. Skyrim, despite being the more modern game feels dead in comparison. This is obvious when NPCs make remarks on the things you do. It's story was the most engaging and the actions you make seem to have a much bigger impact. Oblivion had the best story and immersion. The alien-like flora and fauna was something unique and different from the usual settings in other RPGs. I'll talk a bit about the last three games because I never played the first two, Arena and Daggerfall.

So does anyone else here have thoughts on this series? Is it worth the trouble for me to either get the Steam client working or find a cracked version so that I can play Skyrim? Is Arena worth a try even though it is quite old? Are there other games or series that are similar and might be worth a try? Does anyone have any general comments or thoughts on these games?

As the first installment in the series, it is getting rather old, but if somebody has something to recommend about it, I might give it a try. Any thoughts on Skyrim? It looks good, and after I have gone through Oblivion, I'll probably want to give it a try. I haven't tried Skyrim yet the Steam client makes my computer spontaneously reboot, so unless I figure out that problem, I'll probably have to find a cracked version even though I have purchased it legitimately (as part of the Elder Scrolls anthology). Morrowind definitely fits these criteria, and Oblivion and Daggerfall come close but don't quite make it. I love role playing games that have a huge world that I can explore, and that also have a great story. The caves and dungeons in Oblivion seem like a return to the sameness found in Daggerfall there are many to explore, but they all seem to look alike after a while. Oblivion seems smaller, but the visuals are very attractive, and parts of it seem very well thought out, although at this point, I think Morrowind is probably the better game. The various story lines are well constructed, and the world is a joy to explore. It is one of the most memorable role playing games I have encountered, and I have been playing these games since about 1983. (This is one reason why I haven't been here much lately - these games have taken up a lot of my spare time.) I find that they fixed many of Daggerfall's shortcomings Morrowind is a huge world, but it is incredibly detailed, and it doesn't feel like a computer has generated most of it.

More recently, I have been playing Morrowind and Oblivion. It was enjoyable to play around in its huge world, although after a while, things became repetitive because much of the world was computer generated, and that resulted in a lot of sameness. I'm curious about the experiences other people have had with this series.ДЄ few years ago, I encountered Daggerfall, and despite its flaws, I found it to be promising. There have probably been threads on this subject, but a quick search didn't reveal any recent ones that weren't general in nature (as is the intention for this thread).
